When asked to share what I would do with 48 hours in Denver, I’d say the first thing to do is drive 55 miles north to Fort Collins and come see me at my gym for some boxing fitness.

While I live up north, I spend a lot of time in Denver so here is my take on 48 hrs in the Mile High City.

One thing that I will tell you is that if you are coming to Denver, then I hope that you take your fitness seriously because this is one of the fittest cities in the country. As a matter of fact, Denver was just named the 4th fittest city in the USA.

So if you plan to spend 48 hrs in Denver and working out is not your go-to then here are some more dope things to do.

DAY 1

The first thing you will probably do is fly into the coolest airport in the country. While conspiracy theories abound, let’s just say the DIA is in perpetual construction and there is no end in sight, but it is not a secret underground city for the New World Order.

Take the Highway to Downtown Denver and you will have your pick of any number of great breakfast spots, but my personal favorite is Syrup DowntownBe sure to order some Beignets to start. From Benedicts to omelettes you can’t go wrong. But, who goes to a place called Syrup and doesn’t get something sweet?? Try the Nutella French Toast for something to satisfy your sweet tooth.

After breakfast take a walk downtown and around the 16th St Mall where you will find many different shops and cool places to choose from. After you've finished perusing, make sure to drop by the Denver Botanic Gardens for some of the most breathtaking scenery in the city.

About this time you should be ready for lunch, so you might as well head down to Historic Five Points and hang out at the Denver Central Market. There are different food and drink vendors located in the Market, and you can sit outside and enjoy your meal with a cool, vibrant crowd of people in a laid back CO scene.

My suggestion is to get the Kale-o Bowl from Green Seed and to stop into Be A Good Person and grab some gear that is certain to up your swag.

After lunch you definitely want to stroll around Five Points and take in all of the amazing murals and art that go up every year during the Crush Walls mural event every September.

You aren’t too far from arguably the most beautiful baseball stadium on the country, so be sure to go see Coors Field, and if it’s summer, be sure to take in a Rockies game.

Whether you are a hotel person or vacation rentals is your vibe, there is always a great place with a great view in Denver. My personal favorite hotel is the Kimpton followed closely by Hotel Teatro.

Grab some amazing Mexican fare at Los Chingones before heading out for some drinks at Run For The Roses at Milk Market or 52eighty Sports Bar, but don’t stay out too late! Tomorrow is an active day!

DAY 2

After a great night rest, grab your workout gear and head over to Fitness In The City, High Ride Cycle, or Apex Human Performance for a killer sweat session.

In CO we don’t just take our fitness serious but we also are hard core about recovery. Book an ice bath and sauna session with Amy Morrison of True Core Health and also get some amazing breath work in.

Grab some brunch at There in LoHi and catch a fresh brunch DJ set with your miso-seasoned scrambled eggs with Sriracha and scallions.

After you've finished, take a quick run over to the Downtown Aquarium and spend some time with over a million gallons of water and 500 species including an interactive Stingray Reef, Dive Lounge, Aquarium Restaurant. There’s even a live Mermaid Show for the kids.

After brunch take a walk to historic Union Station, which has been opened since 1881and includes a hotel, cool restaurants, and a train hall. Be sure to grab some ice cream on your way through.

Take some time and be sure to go to the Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey Tour. The tour is about 90 minutes long and you can learn how they say they make the “smoothest, most flavorful whiskey in the world", using the purity of the mountain surroundings to their advantage. The tasters alone are worth the tour.

While 48 hrs in Denver isn’t nearly enough to get to all of the great 14’ers to hike and hot springs to soak in, it is plenty of time to find some cool vibes and food in one of the coolest cities in the country.
