48 hours will turn into a full week really quickly because you won’t want to leave Austin. Whether it is the live music, outdoor activities, or the eclectic bar/restaurant/food scene, the ATX has something to offer everyone. Combine that with 300+ sunny days a year plus a taste of lake/boat life right outside the city, and you almost forget that Austin is in Texas. There is too much to put into one article, but I will break down the must-do's if you only have 48-hours.

WHERE TO STAY

You can’t go wrong with anywhere Downtown, in the Lamar / South Congress Area, or the East Side.

WHAT TO EAT

Breakfast

Grab a coffee at Jo’s coffee and snag a picture in front of the “i love you so much” art.

BREAKFAST TACOS. You can’t go wrong here. From food trucks, to restaurants, go find them!

Lunch

For the Airbnb chef, grab some groceries from the first ever Whole Foods Market off South Lamar Boulevard. If you are looking for a quick bite though, head over to the East Side, which is a hot spot for a variety of food trucks that will be sure to fill you up with whatever you are feeling that day.

Dinner

Grab an early bite to eat in any of the various spots around the Seaholm District / Downtown and then take a walk across the multiple walking bridges to watch the sunset. You might even be able to watch the famous bats come out from under the South Congress bridge if you time it right.

WHAT TO DO

Rent a paddle board/kayak from Texas Rowing Center and enjoy a day / evening out on Lady Bird Lake with epic city views!

A boat party more your jam?!? Gather a group of your friends and head out to Lake Austin or Lake Travis and rent a boat with Float On Boat Rentals

Like to bike ride? Rent a bike from Barton Springs Bike Rental and bike around the 10 mile Lady Bird Lake trail.

Looking for something more chill? Picnic in either Zilker Park or Vic Mathias Shores.

The Bar Scene

There are numerous spots to end your day at. If you are looking for a fast paced night with live music and crowds, check out 6th Street or “Dirty Sixth” as it is called. Or head to the Rainey Street District.

If you are more about the chill vibe, there are numerous spots to hangout on the East Side. Or go check out one of the high rise hotels such as the Fairmont, The Line, Or Hotel Van Zandt for a cocktail and downtown views.

There is still so much left off this list that you are bound to experience if you make it out to Austin Texas. It is an active city, with an active spirit, something in which you have to experience first-hand to fully understand.

I hope to see you here soon!
